Shake It Up With Cinch®!—Cinch® Recipe Contest

Many of our Cinch® customers like to get creative with their Cinch Shakes. Some like to add fresh or frozen berries, or even fresh veggies such as kale or spinach. Some add coffee for a little extra energy kick. And, if they’re looking to add some zest, fresh mint or lemon is just the thing.

We know we’ve got a whole lot of creative Cinch devotees who are diligently losing extra pounds, getting fit for the family, preparing for a marathon, or to just trying to get back into a favorite dress that hasn’t fit since before the babies came along. That said, we’ve decided to do a Cinch Recipe Contest!

For one week, starting today, we are taking your favorite recipe ideas. Your shake recipe must include one of the four Cinch Shake Mix flavors (Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, or Café Latte). Once the contest has closed, a small group of Home Office folks will pick five finalists. They will decide based on the following criteria:

  • Simple to make
  • Tastes good
  • Contains nothing artificial
  • Under 400 calories

What happens next? Recipes from the five finalists will be blind taste-tested by CEO Roger Barnett, who will determine the lucky winner!

We will announce the winner in a follow-up blog post in April 2012.

What does the winner get?

The winner will pick ONE of two prize offerings:

1. A $250 gift certificate to Healthy Chef Creations™ (healthychefcreations.com)

2. $250 towards a membership to Anytime Fitness® (anytimefitness.com)

The Cinch Recipe Contest begins at 6 a.m. Pacific time March 22, 2012, and ends at 6 a.m. Pacific time March 29, 2012.

My husband unfortunately is not crazy about vegetables.  My solution?  Each morning I fix him a CINCH shake with organic kale, Strawberry CINCH, and  spears of frozen organic pineapple.  I sometimes make this with a little added filtered water and ice or Almond Milk and ice. He loves it and gets a great vegetable boost for the day!  It makes a very beautiful bright green shake ~ even the grandchildren enjoy it.

    • http://blog.shaklee.com Kathleen Clark

Hi, Joanne. Sounds wonderful! Can you tell us how much of each ingredient you use? Thanks!

I’ve been thinking about sending this recipe to Cinch Wellness and have been procrastinating, so now’s my chance.

I’ve always loved maple-nut ice cream; this is my healthy version

1 cup milk (I use almond milk, but any kind you like)1 serving of vanilla Cinch1/2 tsp maple flavoringsmall handful of chopped nuts (I use almonds)

Blend first 3 ingredients together, poor into freezeable container (or use ice cream maker for larger quantities). Freeze, stiring every half hour or so to keep it soft.  At the point where it is almost frozen, stir in nuts.Ready in about 1 1/2 hours depending on your freezer.I really love this in the summer for my evening meal.

    • Leta Long

For a delicious change, 1/2 c. coconut milk, 1/2 c. 1% milk, 1/3 to 1/2 c. cottage cheese in blender. To this add about 6 unsweetened dark frozen cherries (from Costco) and about two whole frozen strawberries.  Allow to sit in liquid about 5 minutes before blending.  Blend on ‘Hi’ and stop, then add one scoop Strawberry Cinch mix and one scoop Chocolate Cinch mix.  Blend on ‘Lo’ a few seconds, then ‘Hi’ for 20 or 30 seconds.  This is my new favorite:)

  • http://twitter.com/GoLeanNGreen Marcia Flach

I go for QUICK & EASY by mixing 8 oz Light Vanilla Soy Milk with 1 Scoop of Cafe Latte & 1 Scoop of Strawberry Cinch Mix. That is my favorite, but you can mix one scoop of any of the flavors to make several different flavored shakes, Strawberry/Chocolate, Strawberry/Vanilla, and so on. When I have time I use the Magic Bullet, otherwise, just shake and go!

  • http://www.mywelltech.com/ Dean Walters

I like my shakes thick, so I mix several up ahead of time in a half gallon container.  Soy milk, vanilla cinch, and a little almond extract.  Then, when it sits in the frig overnight, it’s as thick as a milk shake when I pour out my serving the next morning!

  • Karen Hayden

3/4 Cup unsweetened Almond milk, 1/2 cup double strength cold coffee(I use decaf), 1 cup ice, 2 scoops Cafe Latte Cinch, 1 pack no carb stevia, I use this often, especially when I have a craving for one of those calorie laden frappuccinos. I f I blend long enough in the VitaMix I have ice cream! Yummy!

  • AdibaTwigg

Peanut Butter LOVEers – simple, fast, easy and it is sooooo gooood

    1 serving Vanilla Cinch
8 oz Vanilla Light Soy milk (add a little more if you don’t want it as thick)

then use your imagination, use Chocolate Cinch, or Chocolate Soy milk, try different fruits…

I love using White Chocolate Peanut Butter

  • pmatlock

I make an ice cream like treat for afternoon or evening snack.. Start with a little bit maybe a 1/4 cup of unsweetend coconut milk. A cup of frozen mango chunks and a cup of frozen raspberries (trader joes). I big scoop of vanilla or choco Cinch. I teaspoon of Fiber Plan in a strong blender. Blend until frozen fruit chunks blend well. you may have to add a little more coconut milk til it blends well to ice cream like consistency.  Use a rubber spatula to scoop it out into a bowl and eat with a spoon.
Taste like ice cream. Even my Skinny husband loves it. You could sprinkle some nuts on top if you like it crunchy.

For a quick and easy evening meal, I like to use 2 scoops of Strawberry Cinch, 8 oz. non-fat or soy milk; using a blender combine these two ingredients then add  12 frozen strawberries a few at a time and blend thoroughly.  When it is done, you have to spoon it out like a sorbet.  I serve mine in a martini or margarita glass and enjoy every bite.

    My Cinch Recipe

Mix one packet of Pomegrante tea, 8 oz, milk and 1 teaspoon of Vivix with the regular vanilla Cinch drink.

  • Rachel Reese

Though there are a lot of neat ideas for jazzing up Cinch, I’m thinking that things may be getting a little complicated.  In my opinion, Shaklee has already done the creative part before I ever open the canister.

Remember Jello in the fifties?  Housewives outdoing themselves with molds and rings of jello-veggie-fruit-etc. combinations eventually gave up and Jello lost its competitive edge as a simple dessert that was quick and easy to prepare.

If one starts adding too much to Cinch it loses its low-calorie, delicious meal replacement function.

    Cinch is sublime by itself.

Ask Roger to taste a couple of scoops of the latte Cinch in a glass of cold water and see if he doesn’t think it makes a terrific meal.

    Love you, Shaklee Product Developers!

    Cinch Chocolate Protein Fudge

It is not a shake but it does use Cinch Shake powder.

Combine equal amounts (for this I am going to use a cup).  You can make your batches as big or small as you want.

    1 cup pure coconut oil
    1 cup Chocolate Cinch powder
    1 cup organic cocoa powder
sweetener of choice and to your taste (Agave nectar, stevia, etc.)

Melt all ingredients over low heat.  Whisk well.  Pour in a container that will allow it to be around 1″ thick or so and put in fridge until hardened. Then break into random chunks and put in a container with a lid. Since coconut oil will be liquid over 76 degrees…..it would be best to keep this in the fridge and just take out what you want.  This is so satisfying.  If you don’t know the benefits of coconut oil, check it out on the internet as there is a lot of info.  You can change this up by using some Cinch Latte flavor powder for a coffee taste.  This makes a nice, healthy and filling snack.  I usually eat a couple chunks a couple times a day.  Enjoy!!

    Banana Cream Pudding or Pie

Soften ½ package Knox Gelatin in ¼ c hot water

    In blender combine:
1 serving Natural Vanilla  or Chocolate Cinch
    Drink Mix

       ½ to ¾ of a banana sliced

    other
    natural sweetener to taste.

Add all of the gelatin water plus ½ C cold water and 3 or 4 ice cubes.

    using it for pie).

Serve in sundae dish for pudding

    For Pie (my favorite way)

Pour into pie crust lined with sliced bananas.  Oatmeal or Graham cracker crust both are
    great.

Top with sliced bananas and desired topping.  I like light whipped cream.

Egg Nog Cinch Shake (no egg…lots of NOG! :)

1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
(you can use sweetened it will just add more calories to your shake)

2 heaping scoops of Vanilla Cinch
(because almond milk doesn’t have as much protein as soy or regular milk)

    1 tsp of nutmeg
    1/2 – 1 tsp cinnamon
    1/4 – 1/2 tsp cardamon
    1/4 – 1/2 tsp ground ginger

    Mix in blender.

Pour over ice, let it get nice and cold… enjoy your healthy meal!

Simply delicious…no matter what time of year! You can tweak the spices to whatever you prefer, I never measure so those are my best guesses…it always good, and very easy. Not to mention you aren’t adding extra calories by adding in all sorts of stuff, all while getting the health benefits of the spices.

8oz of Coconut milk ( unsweetened coconut dream is the best)
2 slices of fresh organic pineapple about 1/4 in thick directly from the pineapple
2 scoops of Vanilla Soy CINCH
    4 maraschino cherries
    1 peeled orange
    1 banana
    Handful of ice
Place all in blender on smoothie setting

  • Nancy Racies

I enjoy a tablespoon of White Chocolate Wonderful peanut butter in any of the great Cinch flavors.  A teaspoon of carob powder and some fructose combined with the white chocolate peanut butter and a banana make it spectacular!

  • Kim Augsburger

Not a shake but really good:
carton organic yogurt (regular not Greek)
    2 scoops vanilla Cinch
Stir well and top with a little Kashi cereal for crunch
    May add some fresh fruit

If I use Greek yogurt, I’ll use one scoop of Cinch and for the crunch add 1/2 Cinch meal in a bar.

  • Jstackhouse

In my blendtec, add the following ingredients:

    4 drops vanilla stevia
    Blend.
    Add a handful of spinach.
    Blend again.
For additional greens, add a small handful of alfalfa sprouts.

  • Maureen

Well, I’m from Canada, so I guess I’m not eligible to enter the contest.  However, I have created a very unique Cinch Shake called:  Maureen’s Fabulous Fruit Shake!

1 banana, 1 scoop of Cinch Vanilla Protein Powder, 1 small scoop of vanilla ice-cream, 1/2 cup of cranberry-raspberry juice, 1 cup of filtered cold water, 1/2 cup of frozen sliced strawberries, 1/2 cup of frozen raspberries, and 6 large ice cubes.  Blend together in electric blender!  Makes 2 large shakes (total about 300 calories).

    Enjoy!

  • Maureen Watt

I submitted my recipe, but don’t see it here.  So, I’ll enter it again.  I’ve checked the rules and apparently I am eligible to enter this contest as I live in Ontario, Canada!

    Maureen’s Fabulous Fruit Cinch Shake:

    1 banana
1 scoop of Cinch Vanilla Protein Powder
1 small scoop of vanilla ice cream
    1/2 cup of cranberry-raspberry juice
1 cup of filtered cold water
1/2 cup of frozen sliced strawberries
    1/2 cup of frozen raspberries
    6 large ice cubes

    Blend together in electric blender!
Makes 2 large shakes for a total of 300 calories

    Enjoy!

  • MaureenAWatt

    SIMPLY DELICIOUS! STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE
8oz Silk Soy Vanilla Light Soy milk
    2 scoops Vanilla Cinch
    1 oz low-fat cream cheese
1/2 cup frozen strawberries (cut up)
    Blend
    Enjoy!

You can tweak this recipe for taste and thickness. A little more cream cheese for tartness or a little more frozen strawberries for more thickness and creaminess.

    • Sduhing

You could also use fat free sugar free cheesecake jello!!

  • Kristina

    “Invigorating Shake”

    1/4 tsp cinnamon
    1 tsp fresh grated ginger

The spices in this recipe are helpful in stimulating circulation and aiding digestion, so it’s a great way to start your morning.

One of my favorite ways to enjoy the Cinch Shake. . .

I use soymilk, almond milk or rice milk.  I however do not buy the light versions, I simply add water (filtered of course with the Shaklee
water pitcher)  to lighten.  And if it is available, I always buy the unsweetened since the Cinch is plenty sweet.

4 oz of Unsweetened Soy milk
4 oz of cold filtered water
    1 scoop Vanilla Cinch
    1 scoop of Chocolate Cinch
1/2 frozen banana ( I peel, cut in half and freeze banana’s that are just at peak)
    1 teaspoon natural peanut butter
    310 Calories
It’s delicious – reminds me of a chocolate shake from DQ.

  • Robin

Another favorite especially spring & summer

    4 oz Unsweetened Soymilk
    4 oz Cold Filtered Water
    2 scoops of Vanilla Cinch
    1/2 frozen banana
1 Tbsp of Greek yogurt ( I used Honey)
Juice of 1/2 large lemon (maybe slightly more)
    Lemon zest – 1-2 tsp
This is citrusy & wonderful & only approx 300 calories.
But you can also add a small handful of blueberries or raspberries to this base for a variation.

  • Robin

    A great chocolate version:

    4 oz Unsweetened Soy milk
    4 oz Filtered Cold water
    2 scoops of Chocolate Cinch
    1/2 frozen banana
cinnamon (I sprinkle quite a bit in - but probably equivalent to 1/2 tsp )
    nutmeg – a sprinkle
cayenne pepper – sprinkle to taste.  The heat is great with chocolate.
Blend -(immersion or stick blenders work great when making shakes) & enjoy.
283 calories & they say that cinnamon & cayenne rev up the metabolism!

While our CINCH shake recipes so often include extra fruit, my daily challenge is consistently getting enough veggies.  Also, I’m not a milk drinker – so, here’s one of my favorite recipes – oh so refreshing, minimal added calories, with extra fiber and antioxidants.  Enjoy!

    SUNSHINE SURPRISE

    1 cup ice cubes
    3/4 cup Get Clean water
Juice and zest of a lemon
Dime-sized slice of fresh ginger, or more according to personal preference
1 cup packed organic baby spinach – seriously … you can’t taste it
    3 scoops Vanilla CINCH

    Blend until smooth.

Optional:  1 teaspoon of your favorite natural sweetener
